Cognac, orange liqueur and lemon shaken cold and served up, sharp and clean, in a glass with a sugared rim if you want one.

Method
If you want a sugared rim, run a lemon wedge round the outer edge of half the coupe and press that half into a saucer of caster sugar.
Keep the sugar on the outside of the rim only, so it does not fall into the drink.
Chill the glass.
Shake the cognac, orange liqueur and lemon juice hard with ice for 12-15 seconds.
Double-strain into the coupe.
Express the orange peel over the surface and drop it in.
